When I think of hitting the slopes, Indianapolis is not the first city that comes to mind. At least, that was until the coziest ski lodge opened up in Butler-Tarkington. I’m obviously talking about the newest shop from our friends at Small Victories Hospitality: Chalet.

I love Chalet. I go out of my way on Sundays to go to Chalet, hoping Coye is there. It’s part of my routine. Naturally, I talk about Chalet a lot here and on Instagram. So when our friends at North Indy magazine reached out to see if I wanted to write about Chalet for their December issue, I agreed without blinking an eye.

What is North Indy Magazine?

North Indy is part of the Towne Post network, which puts out a wide range of hyper-local print magazines for free that highlight smaller communities within Indianapolis and the surrounding counties. Specifically, North Indy focuses on the northern side of Indianapolis—think Broad Ripple, SoBro, Meridian-Kessler, Butler-Tarkington, and those areas. It was formerly Broad Ripple Magazine until our friend Michael Durr took over.

I love North Indy magazine because Michael and I share a lot of common goals and visions in how and why we share the stories we do. To us, it’s more than journalism and getting something printed. We care about telling important stories that are important to the community. We care about using our voices to tell the facts and putting humanity behind the stories.
