Batch Magazine is a new high-end coffee table magazine dedicated to exploring the local coffee scene in Indianapolis.

INDIANAPOLIS—March 20, 2021—Released today is the first issue of Batch, a high-end, coffee table magazine by the Indianapolis Coffee Guide created to showcase the tight-knit local community in Indianapolis.

The inaugural issue explores more than 50 local coffee shops and roasters and the community they collectively built. The magazine is available to order at and at many local cafés and retailers.

Scott Soltys-Curry founded the Indianapolis Coffee Guide in 2016. The Guide, which started as an Instagram account, has grown to a network of over 12,000 followers, respected blog, accessible iPhone app, and now magazine. Over 20 local writers, photographers, editors, and creatives contributed their talents to this first issue, with the final brand and layout direction led by Ryan Hunley of 2nd Street Creative. The depth of content is amplified thanks to a host of community partners including IndyGo, Tinker Coffee, Circle Bev, Indy Coffee Box, Solstice Floral, and many more.

“Batch is a culmination of the crazy ideas I’ve had over the years of falling in love with Indianapolis coffee,” says Soltys-Curry in the opening letter of the magazine. “Within 24 hours of starting the Indianapolis Coffee Guide, local cafés and roasters asked who I was and what they could do to help me—the community welcomed me with open arms. The Coffee Guide really is my love letter to the local coffee community.”

The inaugural issue gives readers an in-depth look behind the counter through long-form interviews with local coffee professionals, advice for brewing better coffee at home with recipes from local roasters, personal essays about different struggles within the coffee industry, glimpses into a ‘Day in the Life’ of a few of the city’s favorite coffee people, where to get local coffee along the Red line, pieces highlighting the impact of coffee on different communities, and an interactive directory of near every local coffee shop in Indianapolis and the surrounding areas. “I am humbled to see this community-led piece come to life,” says Soltys-Curry. “The Coffee Guide really is my love letter to the local coffee community.”
