Online Ordering at Indianapolis Coffee Shops

One of the DMs on Instagram I get pretty frequently is if I know any local coffee shops in Indianapolis that offer online ordering. I get asked so frequently that I decided to go ahead and put together a little list for you (well, us). Now, bear in mind that setting up online ordering at a coffee shop is no easy feat, and it isn’t always easy for local cafés to keep up with their systems (these systems are not easy to use, nor are they cheap), so I encourage you to remember that! It also is not super easy to keep up with the ever-changing online ordering URLs, but I’m doing my best over here. 🙂 If there is something missing or wrong, you can always let me know, and I’ll be happy to update accordingly.

When to Order Ahead at a Local Coffee Shop

I am obviously a huge advocate for sipping at local coffee shops over corporate chains, and I could go on and on and on about how important it is—now more than ever—to support local businesses. Some of the feedback I get a lot is that some folks love to support local, but their busy lifestyles don’t always make it easy to do. For example, we have a huge healthcare community in town whose days start really early and require really long hours. There are very few Indianapolis coffee shops that have drive-thrus (I should probably make that list) and going inside to wait in line can be too arduous. Ordering ahead is a great solution for these folks because your order can be ready by the time you get there, just like at your favorite green mermaid corporate chain.

Ordering ahead is also great if, like me, you like to peruse a menu before you actually go somewhere. It’s a great way to explore all a coffee shop has to offer so when you get there, you’re mind is already made up and you aren’t stifled by too many choices!

AND THEN OF COURSE, we are currently still in the middle of a seemingly never-ending global pandemic, so online ordering is an incredible way to support local coffee while minimizing contact in public spaces.

Exploring Indianapolis Coffee

There are a million reasons why I love the Indianapolis coffee community, and offering online ordering to reach new customers despite its challenges is one of those reasons. Local coffee shops go above and beyond for us, their customers, and we often don’t see all of their behind-the-scenes hard work.
