Batch Issue 3 Collab

Hello! I am excited to say that the third issue of Batch magazine is officially on its way.
For this project, we are looking for writers and photographers who live in Indianapolis to contribute to the issue. I fully understand that everyone is in different positions in their careers and lives, and this project may not be a perfect fit for what you’re looking for or what you need.
The Indianapolis Coffee Guide and Batch are by the community and for the community. Neither are profit-driven projects and the sole purpose of each is to uplift and support the local coffee community in Indianapolis, as our main goal has only ever been to get everyone to fall in love with local coffee as much as we have. It’s also extremely important that everyone is welcomed and valued in our community. Read more about our Community Statement here.
Here’s a quick breakdown of what we’re looking for:
Writers
As a writer for Batch, you don’t have to be a professional writer, but we do ask for professionalism, high-quality writing, and the willingness to work with an editor to get your writing to match our brand and writing guidelines. We pride our content on being curated, optimistic, and consistent.
We have a predetermined list of content we’re looking for in each issue of Batch, and we’ll work together to determine which piece would be best for your writing style and your lifestyle.
General assignment details:
Length: 750-1500 words, predetermined by piece
Turnaround time: 2-3 weeks from kick-off
Compensation: $75-150 depending on length & complexity of article
Support: I am here to facilitate any/all interviews, connections, and support as necessary for each piece. I will set you up for success as much as I am able!
Photographers
A pillar of the Indianapolis Coffee Guide is telling stories through beautiful imagery, and Batch takes those images to the next level. Photographers for Batch will be assigned an article to capture images for, and in most cases will have nearly full reign on artistic direction. Typically, photographers are given a general idea and/or location to capture, and everything else is up to your creative senses! We can be as involved (or not) as you’d like.
General assignment details:
Compensation: $100-150, determined by complexity
Delivery: 15-20 images minimum, most articles print with 6-10 images
Turnaround time: 2-3 weeks from kick-off
Rights: Once the magazine is published, you will be able to share your images as you please as long as they are credited to appearing in Batch as a collab with the Indianapolis Coffee Guide.
Support: I am here to facilitate any/all connections, schedulings, and support as necessary for each assignment. I will set you up for success as much as I am able!
