About Parlor Public House
Located downtown in the old Smash Social space 🏓 on Ohio, Parlor Public House is a true dream come true with coffee service in the morning, cocktail service in the evening, and one of the most beautiful coffee shops Indianapolis has seen in a while. Highlights so far include incredible aesthetics (just look at Instagram), friendly staff, so many plants, a variety of seating options (and a hidden balcony area), meeting booths, late hours, delicious pastries from Gallery Pastry Shop, and an amazing coffee menu featuring local favorite: Tinker Coffee, Blue Mind Roasting, and Calvin Fletcher’s Coffee Company.
All of the drinks I’ve had so far have been incredibly well-crafted with high-end, unique ingredients, which doesn’t come as a surprise considering every inch of this space was intentionally designed. At opening, one of the most popular items on the menu is called the Butterfly Latte, a tastes-as-good-as-it-looks latte that is actually a non-caffeinated tea latte made with Butterfly Pea tea, lavender + vanilla syrup, steamed milk, and lemon juice spritz. See what I mean?
Another thing you may not have picked up on right away is that Parlor Public House may not exactly smell like a typical coffee shop. Amidst the cozy velvet couches, industrial wooden tables, and the volume of overflowing planters is an enchanting collection of candles strategically placed among books, shelves, and miniature Victorian statues. One of the three couples responsible for giving us Parlor Public House is Seth & Brianna Doles, the owners of Indy’s premier candle empire—Penn & Beech. (You may have noticed their attached warehouse as you walked up to the door.)
Parking is a breeze as there are spaces in front of the shop, across Ohio at RJE, and all along New York.
There are a lot of coffee shops downtown Indianapolis, and Parlor has immediately set themselves apart with their expert menu, incredible aesthetics, and late-night hours. I’m excited for you to check them out and to feature them on the Indianapolis Coffee Guide.
