Foundry Provisions

Foundry Provisions is a quintessential Indy coffee shop located at the corner of 16th and Alabama in the historic Herron-Morton Place neighborhood of downtown Indianapolis. The bright-red-orange building is perfect for grabbing coffee + breakfast on your way to work or enjoying lunch (yes, lunch) over a business meeting or work session.

Foundry has seen quite the transformation over the last few years, and I just truly love to see it. It’s been an Indianapolis staple for so long and rightly so. The staff is so kind, the menu is just broad enough, and the (local) coffee is delicious.

Besides the perfect location, I also love that Foundry has plenty of indoor seating, and a big, beautiful outdoor patio. It’s one of those places that might be off the beaten path for a lot of people, but really it’s just the perfect neighborhood café that everyone should make a point to visit.

The Community at Foundry

One conversation I’m always having with people about the coffee community in Indianapolis and how special it is, is about how cafés that are truly special are the ones who really take care of the community they are part of. It doesn’t matter what ‘café concept’ you can scheme up or how much business planning you do before opening a coffee shop; what really matters is how you show up for the community once you open.

Foundry Provisions is such a perfect example of that. Yes, the coffee is amazing, the food is great, and the staff is always amazing—but how they show up for and take care of their immediate community is really what sets them apart.

Foundry’s little pocket of Indy is so special, unique, and diverse. The way they show up for every single person in that community—the things they do, the conversations they have, the causes they support—is just one of those things you can’t buy or plan for. It happens naturally because the people running the space (Hi, Kimmie!) can’t help but to make sure everyone is taken care of. It’s just who they are. That is something I have always loved about Foundry and something that will always keep them a warm, safe, and welcoming space for everyone.

There’s so much to love about Foundry Provisions, and I’m not just saying that. The coffee is always dialed in to perfection (you know I always am keeping tabs of how folks treat their drip coffee!). Their specialty drinks are always just so good, too!

One of my favorite things about Foundry, though? That d*ng breakfast sandwich. I don’t know what magic they use to make those eggs and bacon, but when you put it on one of their delicious bagels with cheese and avocado?? A dream. It’s one of my favorite breakfast sandwiches in the whole city—just look at my bank statements for the three months after I had my first one… 😅
