About Coat Check Coffee
It’s hard to talk about Indianapolis Coffee without bringing up Coat Check Coffee. (Don’t believe me? Just ask the NYT.)
Located in the literal coat check closet of the historic Athenaeum on Mass Ave., Coat Check Coffee is a go-to for locals and out-of-towners alike. The space is massive and shares its location with a host of different communities (like a daycare, a German restaurant, the YMCA, and an event space to name a few).
The team at Coat Check has long provided the highest quality coffee with out-of-this-world craftsmanship. It’s a place you literally just want to hang out in forever.
As of 2024, Coat Check Coffee changed ownership and is now owned and operated by the fine folks at The Athenaeum! That means supporting Coat Check Coffee also directly supports arts programming, creative community building, and the historic legacy of the Athenaeum.
